Dental Implants
Free Consultation
Implants are often considered to be the ultimate solution for tooth loss. This is due to the fact that they not only look natural, but restore almost complete function to your smile. With proper care of your dental implants, you can expect them to last you a lifetime! If you are missing teeth, or have failing teeth that are in need of extraction, our team can help you find out if dental implants would be a good solution for you.
The Benefits of Dental Implants
Dental implants are a transformative solution to those with missing or failing teeth. An implant is the closest thing to a natural tooth, allowing you to eat the foods you love again, speak clearly, smile confidently, and lasts for a lifetime with proper care. Most patients who get dental implants forget they even have them as they feel and look so natural. If you’d like to stop worrying about your teeth, schedule an implant consultation today!
Dental Implants
The Implant Process
Getting dental implants requires an experienced team like the doctors we have here at Old Greenwich Dental Center. With our professionals here to help, your treatment will be quick and successful. We’ll answer any questions you have and go over everything in detail during your personal and private consultation.
01. Bone Grafting
If you require a bone graft, it will be placed at your first surgical appointment. Some time is allowed for healing, before the next appointment.
02. Place Implant
Once the bone graft is healed, a hole will be drilled into the bone, and an implant will be screwed into place.
03. 3-6 Months Healing
Following implant placement, time is needed for the gums to heal over the implant. The bone support will re-form and stabilize.
04. Set Abutment
After the bone is fully healed, the end of the implant is then exposed. An abutment is placed on top of it.
05. Crown Implant
Finally, a permanent crown is cemented to the abutment. It is tested to ensure proper bite and function.
